The short answer
If you accidentally left a rechargeable sex toy plugged in overnight once, do not panic.

Probably not automatically.
Unplug the toy and inspect it before using it.

Is it unusually hot?
Is the case swollen, bulging or distorted?
Is there a burning or chemical smell?
Do the controls behave normally?
Does the charger or cable look damaged?

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in its battery-powered product guidance, tells consumers to follow manufacturer charging instructions, unplug when charging is done and be present rather than charging while sleeping.
The exact hazard profile of a small vibrator is not identical to an e-bike battery, but the charging habit is sensible across rechargeable consumer devices: do not deliberately make unattended overnight charging the norm when you can easily avoid it.
Womanizer’s own support guidance likewise tells owners to use the supplied cable and confirm that the device is properly charging before walking away.
Do not charge it buried in bedding
A charger does not belong under your pillow, under a comforter or buried in a pile of clothes.
Charge on a stable surface away from things that trap heat or burn easily.
Keep rechargeable devices away from direct sunlight, heaters and other heat sources while charging.
You do not need to sit beside the toy staring at its LED.
You simply want to be awake, nearby and able to notice if something unusual happens.
Dry the toy before you connect power
Waterproof does not mean “charge while wet.”
After washing the toy, dry it thoroughly—especially around charging contacts, ports, caps and magnetic connectors—before attaching power.

A toy may be safe to submerge during use and still require completely dry charging contacts afterward.
Magnetic chargers deserve a two-minute check
Magnetic connectors are convenient, but they can sit slightly crooked.
Before walking away:
Make sure the contacts are clean and dry.
Let the magnet settle into place.
Confirm the charging indicator appears.
Wait a moment and make sure it stays connected.
That tiny check can prevent a lot of “it charged all night but died immediately” confusion.

Slight warmth can be normal for some products.

But “warm” and “alarmingly hot” are not the same thing.
Unplug the device if it becomes excessively hot or if you notice swelling, bulging, smoke, hissing, a burning smell or the casing changing shape.

Do not keep charging a visibly damaged battery-containing device.
What about charging before long-term storage?
Check the manufacturer's instructions.
Some rechargeable devices benefit from periodic charging during long storage, while the exact recommended charge level and interval can vary.
For the battery itself, the EPA recommends storing lithium-ion batteries at room temperature and avoiding long exposure to extreme heat or cold.
For the toy as a whole:
Clean it.
Dry it completely.
Store it appropriately for its material.

You do not need to make this complicated.
Plug the toy in earlier in the evening instead of at bedtime.
